RULES
|
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Membership fees are due for payment on the fourth week of attendance after trial period and will be renewable on 1 April on each subsequent year.
|
BG MEMBERSHIP
All children attending recreational and elite classes must be registered with British Gymnastics as members. This includes insurance cover for the gymnast whilst training and competing. Associate membership provides personal accident cover to a maximum of £50,000. BG Associate Members fees are due 1 October annually.
|
SESSION FEES
All fees are due termly in advance, payable on the first session of a new term. Statements will be issued to you at the end of the preceding term. If any member resigns from the club, advance sessions will be refunded from the date of resignation, provided that advanced notice is given.
Late payments: Any training or club membership fees not paid by the fourth week of term will incur a £5 late payment charge per month whilst fees continue to be outstanding.
Please note: Absenteeism should always be notified. If your child wishes to stop their classes a minimum of three weeks notice must be given. If your child stops classes without notice a charge of three sessions will be made.
|
SICKNESS
Sickness credits will only be given in exceptional circumstances and must be requested in writing to the Manager, Mrs B Webber.
|
HOLIDAYS
No holiday credits are given. The gym closes on Bank Holidays. If your child misses a session due to a Bank Holiday closure they may attend another session within that week. We also close for one week at Christmas but with no charge made.
|
SAFETY
No child may enter the gym unless a coach is in attendance.
Long hair must be securely tied back at all times.
Jewellery must not be worn. We advise that all valuables, eg. rings, earrings, watches etc. are left at home.
Any relevant injury must be reported at the start of a session.
Anyone not complying with the above will be excluded from training for their own safety.
|
UNIFORM
For training purposes close fitting shorts and T shirt are acceptable, but recommended clothing is available from the club shop. Competitive gymnasts will be expected to have the relevant uniform as laid down. Failure to comply may result in withdrawal from competitions. Gymnasts should have a bag of some kind in which to keep all items of clothing, hand guards etc. whilst training and for travelling to other venues. Training normally takes place in bare feet.
|
COMPETITIONS
Summerfields Gymnastics Club is a ‘First Claim Club’, and gymnasts will therefore be required to attend all training sessions and take part in all competitions as appropriate. Parents will be expected to help transport coaches and children to competitions. Our region extends over Kent, Surrey and Sussex, and therefore travelling for top competitors may be extensive.
|
PARENTS
Without parental co-operation no gymnastics club can operate successfully. Therefore special emphasis is placed on the following:
- The gymnast must be prompt at all times.
- Parents must be willing to help out when and where required when events are held at the club.
- Coaches will be solely in charge of the gymnasts during training sessions. Any problems may be discussed before or after a session with the coach concerned.
