She then came to us in our after school classes and quickly became one of our top gymnasts. Sharna was picked for the National Squad and trained at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre. She then became an international champion, representing Great Britain all over the world. Her most important competitions towards the later years of her gymnastics career included the Commonwealth Games where, as an individual and a team member, they became the highest placed British team in recent history. Sharna then went on to represent Great Britain in the Sydney Olympics in 2000 where, again, the team exceeded expectations. After giving up olympic gymnastics Sharna came back to her roots to teach the youngsters at Summerfields. She has been with us since those olympic games in 2000. Sharna lends a hand to everything in the gym from General Gymnastics Recreational Classes to making up floor and beam routines for the older girls.
